Your mission

As a Cloud Solution Architect at CloudAstro, you design cloud architectures that are built for real-world operations. You translate business and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable, and operable cloud platforms.
You take responsibility beyond diagrams — ensuring that architectures work reliably in production and can be operated long-term.

Key responsibilities

• Cloud architecture & design:
  Design end-to-end cloud architectures that balance scalability, security, cost efficiency, and operational stability.

• Strategy to execution:
  Translate business goals, compliance requirements, and technical constraints into actionable cloud designs.

• Governance & compliance:
  Define and implement governance, security, and compliance frameworks (e.g. Zero Trust, GDPR, regulated environments).

• Operational readiness:
  Ensure architectures are production-ready, including monitoring, resilience, backup strategies, and operational processes.

• Collaboration:
  Work closely with Cloud DevOps Engineers and Operations teams to ensure architectural decisions are implemented and operated correctly.

• Stakeholder communication:
  Advise technical and non-technical stakeholders with clear recommendations and well-founded decisions.

• Standards & documentation:
  Define architectural standards and create clear documentation to ensure consistency and long-term maintainability.

What you bring

• Several years of experience as a Cloud Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or multi-cloud environments

• Experience designing enterprise-grade, regulated, or mission-critical systems

• Solid understanding of cloud operations, security, and cost control

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps concepts

• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to technical and business stakeholders

• Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect) are a plus

• Architecture with accountability:
  You design architectures that are built to be operated long-term — not just documented.

• Enterprise and regulated environments:
  Projects in finance, healthcare, and public-sector contexts with strong governance and compliance requirements.

• European delivery model:
  Headquartered in Germany with distributed teams across Europe — no offshore delivery.

• Close collaboration with operations:
  Architecture, DevOps, and operations work hand in hand, sharing responsibility for outcomes.

• Low hierarchies & direct communication:
  Short decision paths, direct access to stakeholders, and real influence on platforms and standards.
